Trial[]
- Trials: Bakugami's Trial is simple. The Witch who wants to acquire him must absorb the 10 years worth of sorrow he had collected, bear it and survive. Furthermore, Bakugami has the right to select the human who can take his trial.
Magic Ability[]
- Sorrow Absorption: As shown in its past with Princess Richia Kagami, Bakugami's magic allows it to absorb the sadness, pain and despair of others by allowing humans to physically hug him in his Tapir form. Bringing happiness to the human beings who subsequently lose the negative feelings they harbored and even forget the source of their unhappiness.[1] However, as later clarified by Gokuraku Kagami, Bakugami's magic, while indeed removing sorrow and other negative emotions weighting on those affected by his magic and thus rendering those affected happy as the burden of such emotions was taken from them, it also completely removes virtually any capacity of its victims to feel any form of sadness, including any other emotion or sentiment that brings sadness to the recipients of his magic. As shown where Richia was rendered incapable of feeling any sadness for anything or anyone, even the feelings of longing, yearning and attachment for her mother, who had died, was removed from her as her love for her was what was causing her sadness.[2] Another application of his power was shown when he had removed the “sorrow” of Gokuraku’s father when he had first attacked Bakugami, effectively removing all of the man’s attachment and care for his son, as shown where the later coldly ordered the latter’s imprisonment and subsequent exile if he continued assault the Majik, due to it causing him “sadness” as it put him in a difficult position with his subjects. [3]As later clarified by Bakugami, after absorbing the negative emotions of the recipients of his magic, he could then store them within himself, with him later revealing that while in his possession, he could actually increase the power of these negative emotions and make them considerably more potent. Bakugami himself revealed that for the last 10 years, he had been collecting and storing the negative feelings of the entire populace of the country he resided in and the visitors and tourists who came to have their negative feelings taken by him.[4]
- Sorrow Infusion: As shown when he demonstrated the full scope of his magic, Bakugami can infuse the sadness he collects into human beings, typically the humans he had originally taken them from, only with the negative emotions now being considerably magnified. By manifesting a small black ball with the word sorrow written on it and then saying "Dreamer Awaken, I return your Sorrow", the ball would then fly to the recipient and be absorbed into their body. The victim of his magic immediately regains all of the negative feelings Bakugami had taken from them, but magnified. Once returned, the immense sadness, despair, pain and anguish returned to his victims causes them to go berserk and inflict violence on themselves and others. As predicted by Bakugami, as he had been collecting and magnifying the negative emotions of the entire population of Bakugami (kingdom) for the last 10 years, he fully expects that once he returns all of their sorrow to them, the country would descend into a berserk frenzy of death, violence, cannibalism and destruction as the citizens would begin rampaging uncontrollably.[5] As shown when he infused some of his sorrow into Gokuraku, Bakugami could also directly influence the victims of those he infuses sorrow into, where he could conjure realistic illusions to further enrage his victims and throw them into further mental anguish and make them go berserk.[6]
- Multi-Eyed Tapir: As shown when he forced Ichi to take his trial, Bakugami can conjure a gigantic multi-eyed tapir as part of the trial. This Tapir was created with the combined sorrow collected by him during his stay in the country he resided in. This tapir physically resembled the tapir shell he resided initially, but possessing multiple eyes spread across its body. All of the eyes in the tapir is closed and is set to open and unleashing all the sorrow contained within should Ichi die while taking his trial. Bakugami had unleashed this creature to head to the capital of Gokuraku’s country and would annihilate all of its residence if Ichi fails Bakugami’s trial.[7]
- Sorrow Magic: Bakugami has showcased to be able to use the sorrow and negative emotions he collected to power several spells for a variety of effects. As noted by Bakugami, he dislikes using this particular ability of his due to it requiring him to use the sorrow he had collected and hoarded, which causes him to quickly burn through his supply of sorrow.[8]
- Misery's Mask: Bakugami conjures a rectangular barrier in the palm of his hands to block incoming attacks. As shown, this barrier is powerful enough to block Gokuraku's fists with a synchronized rate of 20%.[9]
- Sorrow's Sphere: A spell where Bakugami create a circular sphere barrier around himself to block attacks from all direction. As shown, this sphere was strong enough to block Ichi's Inazuri spell and Gokuraku's Simple Kick with a synchronize rate of 30%.[10]
- Mantle of Sorrow: As part of his trial, Bakugami can attach several sorrow orbs into a wheel like halo onto others, throwing the recipient into a berserk like rage. As shown when he had Gokuraku participate in his trial for Ichi, he attached five orbs onto Gokuraku, with each orb being the equivalent of two years worth of sorrow. As shown, the sorrow of this spell caused Gokurau to lose nearly all consciousness and rationality and attack Ichi uncontrollably.[11]
