Kumugi (クムギ Kumugi) is one of the characters in the Japanese manga series, Ichi the Witch. She is one of the founding members of the Team Desscaras team.
Appearance[]

Kumugi is a girl of average height with a petite build. She has mint green eyes and green short hair in a bob cut with two long strands at the back going down to waist level.
Kumugi is almost always seen wearing the Mantinel Witches Association Cadet uniform, consisting of a red and black hat, white long-sleeve dress shirt, gray vest, red string tie with gold stars, brown coat, black and red skirt, black socks and brown boots.[2][3]
Personality[]
Kumugi appears to be mostly uncourageous, awkward, and somewhat timid. Her position in Team Desscaras, between the powerful Abyssal Witch Desscaras and the first male witch, Ichi, makes her feel even more insignificant—especially with her already low confidence.
She is also easily embarrassed when complimented on her magic by Ichi. Despite her insecurities, she is a kind-hearted person.

Kumugi seems to come from a noble background, where she was considered a talent-less child with no chance of becoming a notable witch. She was often mocked by both adults and her peers, which significantly damaged her self-confidence.

Ichi[]
Her initial relationship with Ichi was strained, as she felt overwhelmed by his importance as the first male witch and was slightly afraid of his eccentric and somewhat violent nature. However, after spending time with him and realizing that Ichi wasn’t truly a bad person, they formed a friendship. Kumugi visibly cares for him, as seen when she was found sleeping near his bed while he was unconscious for three days after his battle with the World-Hater Majik.
Shirabedonna[]
As the president of the Research Club, Shirabedonna is Kumugi’s superior, and she even refers to her as "Master".
While it isn’t openly stated, Shirabedonna seems to be fond of Kumugi, despite her lack of powerful magic or self-confidence. In fact, Shirabedonna personally selected Kumugi to be part of Team Desscaras, trusting her reporting abilities.
During the World-Hater Majik battle, instead of writing her own report or focusing too much on the battle, Shirabedonna instead focused on encouraging Kumugi, instructing her to carefully observe and document everything herself.

Natural Prowess[]
While Kumugi lacks courage, magic, and combat skill, she makes up for it with her intellectual analysis, which she documents in her reports.
- Detailed Report Writing: Kumugi's greatest strength is her ability to create highly detailed reports about any event she witnesses. This skill is the primary reason Shirabedonna chose her for Team Desscaras. She proved her talent when her report on Ichi’s trial of Uruwashi became the main evidence used in the Witches' Conference to officially announce Ichi’s existence to the world.
- Driving Floating Vehicles: She has been seen piloting a levitating vehicle, which is commonly used by Mantinel for letter deliveries.
Magic Ability[]
- Water, Spring Forthpoltata: A basic spell that creates a small stream of drinkable water from her wand.
- Endless Ink - Kanpeli: A spell that allows her to create and control floating pens and papers, which can quickly write anything she desires. She used this ability to record the battle between World-Hater Majik, Ichi, and later Desscaras in great detail.

- Magic Pouch: A spatial storage pouch that is smaller on the outside but larger inside, allowing her to carry a significant number of items.
- Report Notebook: Standard notebook for report writing, which is essential to her role and a staple for any witch in the Research Club.
- Research Club Hat: Normal Research Club hat, equipped with a built-in visor.

- None of Kumugi’s Majik or Majik-based abilities have been revealed yet, possibly implying that she doesn’t have one yet.
